MANILA SUNDAY PHOTO WALK

Last April 15 was my second time to attend The Free Postal & Metropolitan Theater Heritage Walking Tour by Filipinas Stamp Collector’s Club. I was surprised that there were a lot of attendees this month, approximately 40 plus compare to 15 last January. I am taking advantage of this free tour because there are talks that the government is in talks with the foreigners to convert The Post Office Building into a luxury hotel.

NEOCLASSICAL EDIFICE

Manila Central Post Office - Manila - 01/17/10
It was a failed sunset shoot at Manila Bay with my friend Allan when I took this photo. We walked from Cultural Center of the Philippines up to the Jones Bridge looking for a good subject but we ended up eating dinner in Binondo.
The photo above is the Manila Central Post Office. It is the post office of Manila and the head office of Philippine Postal Corporation. The building was designed by Juan M. Arellano and built in 1926. It was rebuilt after the worldwar in 1946. It is one of the beautiful neoclassical inspired building in Manila. Located in Intramuros along Pasig River, fronting Liwasang Bonifacio / Plaza Lawton.

KALESA AT NIGHT

Manila - 11/02/2009
I saw this POV while walking with my friends, Oggie, Ferdz, Allan & Dom along Roxas Boulevard corner Kalaw Street in Manila. It was the moon above the two building that caught my attention first then I saw the parked kalesa that eventually became the main subject of the photo. I don’t have my tripod with me that time so I just positioned my camera on the floor leaned against my camera bag then shoot away.
